How it came to be

Welcome! I'm Melissa, and I'm so glad you're here.

My love for miniature donkeys began as a childhood dream while growing up in Vermont showing Morgan horses. Today, that dream has become a reality at Little Oxen Farm in Wolcott, New York, where my husband and I are raising our eight children and a herd of friendly, well-socialized miniature donkeys.

Our journey recently took an especially meaningful turn when we had the privilege of welcoming the miniature donkey herd from Amore Miniature Donkeys in Cazenovia, New York, as the owner retired. We are incredibly honored to carry on the legacy of Amore Miniature Donkeys and continue the tradition of raising exceptional donkeys with the same love and care.
